Salvador - Boipeba

Plane

Daily, small planes leave from Salvador airport to Boipeba. The trip take about half an hour and the ticket cost 374 reais. According to the movement have three departs from Salvador - Boipeba: 8:30 AM, 12:30 PM and 15:30 PM and Boipeba - Salvador: 9:15 AM, 13:15 PM and 16:15 PM.

Catamaran / Speedboat

Boipeba can be reached daily, weather permitting, from Salvador by catamaran to Morro and from Morro to Boipeba by boat. The catamaran is leaving from the Terminal Marítimo, near from the Mercado Modelo at 9:00 AM and arriving at Morro approximately 11:30 PM. The boat is leaving Morro to Boipeba at 12:00 PM and takes an hour. The cost of a ticket from Salvador to Boipeba is 145 reais.

 
 

 

Bus / Taxi

At the São Joaquim ferry terminal in Salvador, take a ferry-boat crossing the Baía de Todos os Santos until you get to Bom Despacho on Itaparica Island. The crossing takes one hour and a ticket costs around five reais.
In Bom Despacho you can take a bus (2 hour trip and a ticket costs about 15 reais) or a taxi (1 hour away and cost about 150 reais) to Valença.

Another option is to take a boat at the Terminal Marítimo, near from the Mercado Modelo to Mar Grande on the Itaparica Island. The crossing is faster (about 30 minutes) and the range is only half an hour. A ticket costs around five reais. In Mar Grande can take a van to Nazaré and then a bus to Valença or charter a taxi that takes an hour and cost about 150 reais.

Car

Motorists have two options: either travel through the BR 101 or crossing the Baía de Todos os Santos with the Ferry-boat to Bom Despacho. The routine is Valença. At the pier in Valença you take one of the boats to Boipeba.

Another option is to follow the trip to Torrinha, a small place, which is closer to the Boipeba Island. Leaving from Bom Despacho, you will pass the town of Nazaré, Valença, Taperoá, and Nilo Peçanha. Just after Nilo Peçanha there is a left turn off to Cairu, and after 12 km on that road, there is another right turn off to a 7-km dirt road to Torrinha. You can park your car in enclosed, covered, safe parking areas. From Torrinha, speedboats take you to Boipeba.

 



 

Valença - Boipeba

Speedboat

Daily, between 10:00 AM and 16:00 PM, fast boats leave from the pier in Valença to Boipeba. The trip take about one hour and the ticket cost 35 reais.

 

Boat

From Monday to Saturday at 12:30 PM, a boat leave from the pier in Valença to Boipeba. The trip will take about 4 hours and the cost is 13 reais.

 

Bus / boat

From Monday to Saturday at 11 AM and 2 PM, a bus leaves from the Rodivária in Valença for Torrinha, making a connection to a boat which leaves from Torrinha for Boipeba. This is about a 2 ½-hour trip (cost 13 reais).

 

 

 



 

Torrinha - Boipeba

From Torrinha, speedboats take you to Boipeba. It is about a 25-minute trip downriver through the mangroves. The cost is about 80 to 150 reais, according to the boat.

You can also take the boat that connects to the bus from Valença. The boat leaves around 12:30 PM and 15:30 PM.

 



 

Morro de São Paulo - Boipeba

The trip from Morro de Sao Paulo to Boipeba is easy to organize.

Daily at 9:30 are speedboats leaving for a trip to Boipeba.

You can also travel with a jeep. The starting point is at the Receptivo on the second beach.

 



 

Barra Grande - Boipeba

In Barra Grande you go by speedboat or boat to Camamú. From then have two options:

Bus

From Camamú follows by bus to Valença where you take a boat to Boipeba. The bus ride takes about two hours and costs around five reais.

Taxi

Another option is to travel by taxi to Torrinha, where you charter a boat to Boipeba. The taxi ride takes an hour and costs about 150 reais.

 



 

Itacaré - Boipeba

Bus

In Itacaré you take a bus to Valença where you take a boat to Boipeba. The bus ride takes about three hours and costs around fifteen reais.

Taxi

You can also catch a taxi to Torrinha and there chartering a boat to Boipeba.
