L´isola di Boipeba si trova a sud di Salavador,
nel Município insulare di Cairu. I principali
punti di imbarco sono:

Salvador / Ilhéus - Torrinha - Boipeba (in
automobile)

Dopo la traversata della Baia de Todos os Santos, sono
150 km. Per la BA 001 fino a Torrinha, piú vicino
punto di imbarco per l´isola di Boipeba.
Partendo da Bom Dispacho nell´Isola di Itaparica,
il tragitto passa per le cittá di Nazaré,
Valença, Taperoá e Nilo Peçanha.
Dopo la cittá di Nilo Peçanha si debe
entrare a sinistra nella strada per Cairu, andando per
12 km., per successivamente entrare a destra in una
strada di argilla (7 km) che porta al villaggio di Torrinha.
Si arriva lí solo in automobile che puó
rimanere in un posteggio protetto. Il viaggio di motoscafo
fino a Boipeba dura circa 25 minuti, il tempo sufficiente
per ammirare le mangrovie bagnate dal fiume Inferno.

Valença - Boipeba

From Monday to Saturday at 12:30 PM, boats leave from
the pier in Valença to Boipeba. The trip will
take about 4 hours, going through the mangroves, passing
in front of the city of Cairu.
From Monday to Saturday at 11 AM (and 2 PM in summer),
a bus leaves from the pier in Valença for Torrinha,
making a connection to a boat which leaves from Torrinha
for Boipeba. This is about a 2 ½-hour trip.
Buses leave daily from Bom Despacho and from Itabuna
for Valença. The trip by bus to Valença
from Bom Despacho would take about 2 hours.

Graciosa - Boipeba

Graciosa is a small town/port right off the BR 001,
12 km south of Valença. From Monday to Saturday
at 2 PM, a boat leaves for Boipeba. The trip takes about
2 ½ hours, and the boat goes downriver, passing
by Cairu, and then the mangroves of the Inferno River.
Graciosa can be reached by car or bus from north or
south, and you can find safe parking there for cars.

Morro de São Paulo - Boipeba

Boipeba can be reached daily, weather permitting, from
Morro by boat or Toyota jeep. There are excursions which
leave from Morro at 9:30 AM, arriving at approximately
12:30 PM in Boipeba. These same excursions leave Boipeba
at about 2:30 PM, arriving at around 6 PM in Morro.
Private transportation from Morro can be costly when
not coming on the daily excursions. The excursions are
not a reliable service in the off season. The easiest
way to get to Morro from Salvador is by catamaran or
plane.
