PlaneFrom the airport of Salvador small planes departs to the island of Boipeba. The journey takes 30 minutes and according to the movement there are three schedules. Salvador-Boipeba: 8:30, 12:30 and 15:30 and Boipeba-Salvador: 9:15, 13:15 and 16:15. The value of a ticket is R $ 610,00. Bus / TaxiAt the São Joaquim ferry terminal in Salvador, take a ferry-boat crossing the Baía de Todos os Santos until you get to Bom Despacho on Itaparica Island. The crossing takes one hour and a ticket costs around five reais. In Bom Despacho you can take a bus (2 hour trip and a ticket costs about 20 reais) or a taxi (1 hour away and cost about 250,00 reais) to Valença. Another option is to take a boat at the Terminal Marítimo, near from the Mercado Modelo to Mar Grande on the Itaparica Island. The crossing is faster (about 30 minutes) and the range is only half an hour. A ticket costs around five reais. In Mar Grande can take a van to Nazaré and then a bus to Valença or charter a taxi that takes an hour and cost about 250,00 reais. CarMotorists have two options: either travel through the BR 101 or crossing the Baía de Todos os Santos with the Ferry-boat to Bom Despacho. The routine is Valença. At the pier in Valença you take one of the boats to Boipeba. Another option is to follow the trip to Torrinha, a small place, which is closer to the Boipeba Island. Leaving from Bom Despacho, you will pass the town of Nazaré, Valença, Taperoá, and Nilo Peçanha. Just after Nilo Peçanha there is a left turn off to Cairu, and after 12 km on that road, there is another right turn off to a 7-km dirt road to Torrinha. You can park your car in enclosed, covered, safe parking areas. From Torrinha, speedboats take you to Boipeba. Catamaran / boatBoipeba can be reached from Salvador by catamaran to Morro and next day to Boipeba by boat. The catamaran is leaving from the Terminal Marítimo, near from the Mercado Modelo at 9:00 AM and 14:00 PM. Next day, boats are leaving Morro to Boipeba at 9:30 AM.

SpeedboatDaily, between 10:00 AM and 17:00 PM, fast boats leave from the pier in Valença to Boipeba. The trip take about one hour and the ticket cost 44,00 reais.
Bus / boatFrom Monday to Saturday at 11 AM and 2 PM, a bus leaves from the Rodivária in Valença for Torrinha, making a connection to a boat which leaves from Torrinha for Boipeba. This is about a 2 ½-hour trip (cost 23,00 reais).

Torrinha - BoipebaFrom Torrinha, speedboats take you to Boipeba. It is about a 25-minute trip downriver through the mangroves. The cost is about 100 to 150 reais, according to the boat. You can also take the boat that connects to the bus from Valença. The boat leaves around 12:30 PM and 15:30 PM. |
